Budelkhand region of Madhya pradesh has rich cultural heritage. The wall paintings of Orchcha have attained popularty in the art world. The temples of Khajuraho have been recognised as world heritage. Right from Orchcha to Datiya to the remotest places like Bijana, Samthar, Rehali .Teekamgarha and Chchatarpur we have nice wall paintings and we have also fabulous miniatures from the Ashtagrghis like Bijana. The schools of orchcha and Datiya are world fame schools of miniature paintings having fine blending of locality and Mughal tradition of painting. This is also significant to know that datiya school influence Malwa painting tradition and many early paintings from Datiya are attributed to Malwa. Bundelkhand School of art is hardly explored.
